The Greek Freak Has Made The Leap

Giannis Antetokounmpo, otherwise known as the Greek Freak, is a 22-year old basketball phenom playing for the Milwaukee Bucks. At 6’11”, he’s the tallest point guard in the NBA since Magic Johnson. Growing up in Greece, he didn’t even start playing basketball until he was 12.

Having flashed incredible potential for several years, this has been the season where he can be considered one of the top 5 or 10 players in the NBA. And last night, he added to his fantastic season by hitting a game-winning buzzer beater to beat the Knicks at Madison Square Garden:

Earlier this week, Lee Jenkins at Sports Illustrated wrote a terrific story on Antetokounmpo and how he got acclimated to life in the US after being drafted by the Bucks at 18 years old.
